2-Bedroom Suburban Design
One of our larger 2-bedroom suburban designs, the Hampton is an evolution of the Contempo, both of which are stylish 2-bedroom solutions that feature a full-size kitchen and separate living and dining areas, a rarity with granny flats. Another great feature of the Hampton is the wraparound patio or verandah. The stepped roof lines in this design hide the high-level ceilings while giving the house a charming colonial appeal.
Like many of our 2-bedroom designs (including the Downtowner, Uptowner and Metro) this granny flat has separate living and bedroom zones which provide greater privacy. The built-in-robes in each bedroom have been positioned on either side of the central bathroom to maximise privacy between bedrooms. Only the Urban, which has 2 bedrooms on either side of the granny flat, offers greater privacy between bedrooms.
The abundance of traditional detailing creates a Hampton-style character that makes this one of our most popular designs. The large size makes things easier for people who are looking to downsize. The Hampton is ideal as a freestanding home on acreage or as the main home (primary dwelling) on your property.

Design
- The Hampton is one of our larger “small home solutions” with 100m2 of undercover area. Designed for those who want a very comfortable, independent lifestyle, it features separate living and bedroom zones that ensure privacy. The open-plan living area can be divided to provide you with separate living / dining areas (a rarity with granny flats) and the full-size kitchen with island bench mean entertaining with large groups won't be a problem. A wraparound deck surrounds the living area and gives the home a more open and spacious feel.
- 2 large bedrooms (to fit king or queen beds) with built-in-robes (customised to suit your needs). When wraparound verandahs are introduced we replace the bedroom windows with French doors.
- Great privacy between the bedrooms. This is achieved by positioning the built-in-robes on either side of a central bathroom. We also add acoustic insulation to select internal walls.
- Careful placement of windows and doors throughout ensures good natural light and cross-ventilation which is vital for a healthy home. We can even position windows to suit your furniture layout.
- 6+ star energy efficiency. All external walls and the roof are sarked and insulated to ensure great thermal performance all-year round. We insulate the Deck roof too. Subfloor insulation is available as an option.
- The overall look of the Hampton suits both suburban yards and acreage.
