The Lodge is one of our more popular 1-bedroom designs with its contemporary and inviting look thanks to the use of mixed materials and a sweeping skillion roof. A large bi-fold or stacker door opens out to the deck, making this ideal for entertaining or just relaxing and enjoying the view.

Sized to suit both individuals and couples it’s ideal for Councils and regions that place a restriction on the overall size and number of bedrooms in a granny flat. 

Being one of our smaller granny flat designs, the interior fitout maximises storage space: a compact Kitchen runs from wall-to-wall and can be customised to suit your exact requirements including double overhead cupboards or an L-shaped extension. The built-in-robe is also customised for each client and can be extended across the full width of the bedroom if needed.

The bedroom is large enough for a king bed plus additional furniture which is quite a luxury for a 1-bedroom granny flat but a great solution for couples as it provides a separate space away from the living area. 

This design is typically built with raked ceilings throughout which improves the natural light and feeling of spaciousness. A large stacker or bi-fold door opens-up the living area to the deck, this area looks great when it’s pointing towards an outlook.

This is a very stylish 1-bedroom solution with an expressive roof form and mixed use of materials that create contrasting colours and textures, typical or our “Architectural Series” of granny flat designs.

Popular variations to this design include a wheelchair-accessible version and a smaller open-plan Studio which makes it an ideal pool pavilion. A lower-budget solution can also be achieved by introducing sandwich panel roofing.
